Whether you're immersed in the journey on the dance floor or fixated on his delicate mixing strategies from behind the decks, you can see and hear that Tim is one of those rare, inspirational DJs who can motivate his crowds to successive levels of excitement. Initially schooled in Hip Hop circa 1987, Tim converted to House and Techno after a 1990 trip to the U.K. which included repeated trips to London's record shops and witnessing first hand the U.K. Acid House movement in full throttle. Tim Patrick’s reputation as one of Canada's most adept DJs has its origins in Toronto's early rave scene. In 1995, after having established himself as a major player in the local DJ hierarchy through the now-infamous parties thrown by Subb, Pleasure Force, and Better Days, Tim's command of energies on the dance floor was recognized by Dose Productions. Hooked up with residency status from their premier Toronto party and beyond, it was under the Dose banner and the influence of various guest spots across North America that Tim's sound developed into what he is known for today. Whether he was warming up a room or rocking it prime-time, Tim quickly developed a far reaching fan base. Not one to tie his sound to any one label or genre, Tim is adequately comfortable with the term "tech-house". His past residencies for Dose, Syrous & Industry Nightclub, as well as the legendary Friday nights for Lifeforce at Turbo, System and Element Night Clubs kept him on constant patrol of the ever-shifting borders between House and Techno. As a House / Tech-House / Techno buyer for Toronto’s legendary Play De Record, and with 10 years experience in record shops dating back to the notorious Traxx Records, it’s no surprise that his record collection runs almost as deep as his passion for music. Tim's sets are the ultimate pilgrimage, guiding every dance floor across deep, hard, and funky musical terrains. He always rocks the room properly, seamlessly driving out a slick signature blend with his renowned programming and tight mixing skills. His consistency earned him the title of Toronto’s Number One House DJ 2001 through 2004 (Eye Magazine Poll). In addition to a busy DJing schedule, which has taken him across Canada , the U.S., and Europe, Tim is currently also engaged in music production. To date his discography includes remixes of Paranoid Jack’s, "Nocturnal Affairs", and "Back To Kitsilano" on Toronto-based Stickman/Aquarius Records, as well as Tim Patrick & Paranoid Jack’s three Rhythm Section releases on famed Chicago imprint Catalyst Recordings and their remixes for Dizzy (Doubledown Recordings) "On & On" (four01 Recordings) and the Moonshine Recordings and Seamless Records licenced Toof "Toof EP" remix, all of which have received both critical and dance floor acclaim. 2004 was a groundbreaking year with the launch of Tim Patrick and Paranoid Jack’s Fifth Sun Recordings. The first release in June 2004, Paranoid Jack’s "The World Must Change" took the world by storm with heavy support Sasha, John Aquaviva, Eddie Amador, Saeed and Timo Maas to name a few, following the Fifth Sun mandate that their sound appeals to a diverse range of tastemakers. The second release, Jon Delerious’ "New Jack Hustlin’", featuring a Paranoid Jack & Tim Patrick remix, quickly followed the footsteps of the first release…reaching number 1 on the famed Balance Record Pool chart and maintaining support from top DJs all over the globe. January 2005 saw the Fifth Sun release of Tonepushers "Falling" with Valentino Kanzyani remix, again, meeting the approval of top DJs from all four corners. Both the slick futuristic original Tonepushers mix and the devastating Valentino Kanzyani re-rub made it a favorite among DJs like Deep Dish, Max Graham & Kiss 100 FM’s Dave Mothersole. On deck for 2006: DJ Ura’s “Relax FM”, featuring remix from Nathan Coles (Fabric, Wiggle, UK) and B Side cut “Graphite featuring Kobaya. Followed up by a storming two tracker by Tyler Lewis (Totem, Lifted, CA). The anticipation for future releases and dj appearances is at a fever pitch, and certainly the future looks bright for Fifth Sun and Tim Patrick. | | YM The Explicit Sounds of YM.... YM consists of Michael “Makett” Terrazzano, Chris “Larse” Larsen and David “Ace” Cinelli. With influences across the board from Gaiser to Ricardo Villalobos, Larsen and Terrazzano create a sweetly funky, bassline driven, hard tech savy sound and when combined with Cinelli’s “crowd friendly” beats, authentic sounds, nostalgic track selection and crazy antics, the trio known as YM have quickly broken out in the Canadian EDM scene. Creating their unique and original sound has been a process that began in Early 2007, however, the history of the three backdate much longer. Terrazzano and Larsen were high school friends and met Ace Cinelli in late 2006. A bond was formed over friendship and strengthened over music as the trio often found themselves lost in the sounds of techno and house in the early morning hours of some of Canada’s most notorious afterhour venues. The TRIO saw their debut together in February of 2008 at FOOTWORK BAR in Toronto, ON in what some called “a rock concert” like atmosphere as the energetic and unique sound combination of YM was a refreshing change to a scene ready for something “different.” The next night, Terrazzano with Cinelli and Larsen by his side made his debut at the Guvernment complex, foreshadowing a residency for the trio that soon followed. Although the trio started out in 2008, it was earlier that they began their careers. Michael Terrazzano was inspired at a young age to become a DJ following in his uncle’s footsteps, who, was one of Toronto’s top DJs in the mid to late 90’s. Learning to spin vinyl at a young age, Terrazzano was hooked early, he traded in a drumset at a pond shop for two turntables, an amp, a mixer. Michael Terrazzano (under LT with Chris Larsen) made his club debut at TOI bar in Toronto in January 2008, however, he had been a wedding and special events DJs years prior. That night eventually landed YM a residency at the Wednesday night hot spot along Alicia Hush. Chris Larsen, who made his debut with just five months experience has a natural gift and talent, with a dedication and determination that has allowed him to perfect his craft. His passion and focus has elevated YM quickly through the ranks. Larsen with his tech savy style uses influences from the likes of Hawtin, Appendix Shuffle and Loco Dice to propel himself into the elite class of Toronto DJs. David Aiello (David Ace, David Ace Cinelli, El Ace O) is the wildcard of the crew. A Toronto scene regular for over 7 years, the man known to most as ACE is known for his loyalty and support to the Toronto music industry. | | Nickey House Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Nickey House is no rookie when it comes to spinning house music. As an adolescent, Nickey House has been deejaying since he was fourteen. Spinning at raves as early as seventeen Nickey House has been actively involved in the support, promotion and legacy of the underground. Being revived to get back into the industry, Nickey House is back on the scene! Spinning a more mature; yet still classic and unique sound, Nickey House is sure to get people movin' with compilations of electro, progressive and disco house. Mixing some of the best sounds of house, Nickey House is sure to come out stronger than ever! | | Marcos Stratos As a fanatic when it comes to electronic dance music, Markos is no newcomer to the art and skill of the dj. He is Niagara's hardest working DJ, who thrives on influencing an evolving scene in an area where electronic dance music is not categorized as a genre. For the last year, Markos has played along side some of the best talent in the Ontario Region. Nathan Barato, Carlo Lio, Addy, Sydney Blu, Joe Cons and The Vinyl Junkies just to name a few. His love for music came at a very young age and hasn't stopped since. His skills behind the decks create sets like no other where stories are told, and emotions are captured. This is his brand, and will have it no other way. Believing in music as a tool to connect people without thinking about the negative is a moto Markos promotes more then any event he is throwing. Always working on ways to indulge his crowd and get them to think what he is thinking is something Markos tries to create with every mix. | | | | | |
